So these little controller attachments from Kontrol Freeks are designed for people who play first person shooter games and want to increase their kill/death ratio and accuracy. They snap right onto your control sticks on any standard 360 or PS3 controller and most third party controllers. By attaching them it gives your joysticks added length which gives players a 40% increase in range, motion and alleviates thumb fatigue, allowing the player to have better accuracy and high kill counts.
When these little bad boys showed up at my front door I was a bit skeptical because they are just little joystick extenders, and I was still doubtful after playing about two dozen games of Black Ops. I ended up giving up on them for a while because they were in fact giving my thumbs a bit of fatigue. After taking them off and playing a few games, I realized that they actually helped with the range and motion. Using the regular sticks made the movement feel slower so I switched back to the Kontrol Freeks and playing began to feel normal.
Now these did not help my kill/death ratio at all. Hell these fucking things didn’t even help my accuracy either. The only thing that I can actually say improved was my hip firing. I found that I was getting more hip fire head shots than I normally would have, but aiming down my sights had no noticeable improvement. In reality my accuracy actually dropped because I was shooting from the hip more often which caused me to shoot a shit load more bullets.
I’m thinking that these joystick extensions may have different results for different people. If you are in need of joystick covers because your little nubs on your controller have worn off, these aren’t a bad investment. Just don’t think that these are going to really help you with your kill/death ratio anytime soon.
